Information about many different health concerns, including the newest threat to
homeowners and landlords, toxic mold.  This site also has a very efficient search
feature.

Recalls:

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission                                             
This is the nation's watchdog organization for the protection of consumers against
faulty and recalled products.  We, as inspectors, try to make you aware of the
more prominent and hazardous appliance failures, however, we cannot possibly
keep up-to-date on the hundreds of product failures annually.  You may wish to
visit this site and search the individual brand names of the appliances in your home.

"Omega" Fire Protection Sprinkler Heads

This site gives specific information on the types of "Omega" brand fire sprinkler
heads which were found to be defective.  It also gives information regarding the
recall and time constraints for filing a claim.  Apparently, the filing date has passed,
but this site still has information that you may find helpful.

Horizontally Installed Gas Furnaces
This alert dated July 2001 lists the brand names, model numbers, and other
information about the defective furnaces which were recalled in California.
